We talk to funeral directors every day all across America about their experience trying to live stream funerals. Many have tried using Zoom, but end up frustrated, searching for a better option. We've compiled our **Top 9 Reasons **why Zoom is NOT a good option for live streaming funerals.    **9. Families Have to Download Zoom** To use Zoom, you must download software to your device. This can cause frustration and anxiety for family members.  With Gather, family members don't have to download anything. They simply click a link and begin watching.   **8. Poor Sound Quality** Laptop microphones are designed to capture someone talking directly in front of the camera and are not designed to capture music or people speaking from a distance. Gather's external directional microphone was designed to work in a variety of scenarios to capture all aspects of the funeral services. Gather's microphone works perfectly indoors and outdoors to amplify both music and speakers.   **7. Poor Video Quality** With Zoom, the video looks grainy and the frame rate is not great. Zoom was designed for meetings so the video quality is not a primary focus, especially if you are using a laptop camera. Gather's custom HD camera was designed specifically to capture events. Many of our customers are surprised by the quality of the video.    **6. Poor Experience for the Family** Zoom was designed for meetings, not funerals. Family members watching a funeral on Zoom report feeling like they are in just another meeting instead of an important remembrance of a loved one.  Gather's livestream solution was designed from the ground up to create a simple and beautiful experience for families to remember their loved one.   **5. Zoom Reflects Poorly on Your Funeral Home** We hear from Funeral Directors every day that Zoom just feels "cheap" to their customers. Funeral homes are searching for a better way to present their funeral home to the families they serve. Gather puts the funeral home front and center by creating a perfectly integrated, beautiful experience that family and friends love and appreciate.   **5. People are Sick of Zoom** Zoom Fatigue is a real thing. Many people use Zoom every day for work and using it for something as important as a funeral can feel like just another meeting.   Gather is a completely new and reimagined experience that creates a sacred space to remember a loved one.   **3. No Recording of the Video** People usually show up late to the Zoom funeral (usually because they were struggling to download the software) and since Zoom isn't recorded and hosted, they will miss those moments. With Gather, everything is automatically recorded and hosted for the family so they can continue to enjoy the funeral for years to come, making you the hero!   **2. Zoom Only Works Inside** Zoom was not designed to work outdoors.   With Gather, you can livestream from anywhere, including graveside services. Even if you don't have internet, you can record the video and upload it after the services.   **1. No Support if Something Doesn’t Work** If something isn't working as expected, you are on your own with Zoom. With Gather, you have an entire team dedicated to helping your Livestream work perfectly. We proactively watch each stream and you can reach out anytime for help. ### Live streaming has never been more important. With Gather, it's never been simpler.
